I don't remember where it came from; I can't remember the girls every using it. But this pink football is always somewhere really visible in the yard, including today, in the rain.
I made this cake for a coworker's last day (which is tomorrow). It's a really distasteful inside joke, but it was fun to make. I still have to paint some shading on it and smooth out some ends, but it has to set and I'm tired! (I'm also really sad. He's my best friend at work.)
This is my crazy friend Tina. She laughs all the time. She's great. We sit right next to each other at work. Today we had lunch in the park near our work. Remember when you and I would have lunch at the picnic table at the Press & Sun? : )
I really wanted to post some photos of the leaf buds on the tree in front of our house, but I couldn't get the focus right. Not knowing that at the time, I turned around and decided to get a backup shot of this daffodil in the front flower bed. The ruffle on the trumpet is so pretty. As I was crouching to get the photo, a little hand shot out to ask me what the tiny leaves were (Bishop's weed, I believe).
This was one of the first things I saw this morning when I woke up. These are the curtains in our sun room, my favorite room in our house. The shadows and the sunlight were just really pretty and peaceful.
I came home a little early from work today bc I was so tired. All i wanted to do was collapse in my bed. I originally took a photo of my crumpled up sheets sans me, but then Toaster came into the bedroom and said that you needed to see me in my sleep mask, which he laughs at all the time. : ) So... here it is!

He was sitting with his sketchbook in his lap and if it weren't for the glow in his glasses, I would have totally believed he was drawing instead of playing with his iPhone. He's back to sketching now and all I can hear is the pencil scratching across the rough paper.
I made my first cappuccino this morning. It took me 25 minutes to read and understand the instructions in the manual. To set the mood, I played some Billie Holiday to make it feel like I was in a coffee house. : )
Our hostas this year are so pretty and robust. Every time I see them, I think of you and the hostas you planted at our apt. in Binghamton -- you know, the ones that our landlord mowed down? I'll never forget how devastated you were the morning you found them destroyed. Anyway, I found myself thinking about you today as I wandered through the yard admiring our hostas. : )
The light was so pretty in the kitchen this morning, I had to get a picture of one of the lights of my life. See that weird bowl? It has a straw in it so she can sip all the milk out when she's done. Funny the things you find when you become a mother. (and the things you put up with -- I hate placemats, especially SpongeBob placemats.)
