Snake on our house

So at 8 a.m. today while we were pulling out of the driveway to go to breakfast, I saw a snake on the side of the house. At first we were not sure what it was, but then we got a closer look and saw the snake's head. Who knew snakes could climb that high? I mean, what was he doing? So here's Toaster getting the snake and then chopping off its head with a shovel. Awesome stuff.

Here's Toaster with the dead snake's body.

Here's the snake's head. It was still opening and closing its mouth.

  1. Oh, my gosh! What kind of snake is that? I didn't know they could climb houses!

  2. Neither did I. Our neighbor, who knows about snakes, said it was called a "rat snake" bc they're climbers. I was doing research last night though and they say to trim the tree branches if they hang over the roof of your house. That may be how he got on our house -- maybe he climbed the tree??? It's all so creepy. Toaster is going to go in the attic to make sure there aren't any others up there. I'm nervous we have them up in the attic.

  3. That's so much more creepy than the mice we had recently. Somehow snakes are much grosser.
