Banana Yoga

Joe and I think yoga might help the Goose with focus and knowing where her body is in space. She tends to bump into other kids a lot. So far, we learned she has her mother's balance. Flamingo pose requires a little propping.

Happy little tree

I bought this tree last year at Target. It's my favorite Christmas decoration. I couldn't wait to light it up.

My $5 scarf

The only shopping I did this weekend was a 5 minute run in Target last night to buy White Christmas on DVD. This scarf caught my eye as I walked in the store. I was excited to wear it today.

Pone

Parker loves playing with my phone. Yesterday I reset it and forgot to reset the automatic lock. I found her with the phone and Grandpa was on the other end. Thank goodness it was "Bampa" on the "pone" and not my boss!

Cool art

We found this piece of art at a yard sale while we were walking Yoshi this morning. We got it for $5!

Trees are up

This is the third tree in the house. It's about 10 inches high and Anna and I made it from scratch -- including all those adorable shrinky dink ornaments!

Hanging out

Today we watched a marathon of the Golden Girls, sipped tea, ate cookies and took a long nap. It was a pretty awesome, relaxing day.

Black Friday Shopping

I spent most of my day in my pjs hanging out with Edie and our kids while Joe got almost all our shopping done on Black Friday. Hey, at least I contributed by wrapping them.

Washing dishes

I love this moment. This is me and Toaster's mom. I'm laughing because he took a photo of our behinds as we were washing dishes and she made a joke about how she didn't like having her rear end photographed.

Baby bonding

Our camera is still on the fritz. This is a cropped iPhone photo Joe took of Edie holding Carson and Parker in low light. Guess it has some limitations...

Turkey Timetable

What's going to get me through preparing Thanksgiving dinner? This handy dandy timetable that Amanda suggested I compile.

MERT Response 1-5222

When a non-patient needs medical attention somewhere in the medical center, a page goes out over the loudspeakers that says something like, "MERT Response" and then the location. When my plant fell over this morning, we needed a page. :( A little masking tape and some ingenuity might save the poor thing. It was my mom's.

blah

Today sucked, but this little paper doll makes me happy.

Flowers

I got a little bouquet as a thank you for all the work I did for an event that was held last week. I have only ever gotten thank you flowers from faculty members twice.

Waiting

Had to go to the doctor today because I had some white bumps on my throat. Turns out it wasn't anything serious. But I did get some downtime to look through my Lucky magazine.

Turkey disguise

The camera is charging, but I still had to show you this turkey Anna and I decorated for her homework. (Joe took this with his iPhone.) We had to disguise it so it wouldn't be eaten for Thanksgiving. He's a beaded and sequined bride. Ha!

Festiveness

I'm in the Christmas spirit early this year, so I pulled out some of our Christmas decorations today. I love how Yoshi is watching me from the door. So cute. : )

Ratatouille

Joe threw all kinds of stuff into a crockpot for dinner tonight. It smelled so good, I couldn't help peeking in on it way too many times. It tasted a lot like ratatouille with chicken. Yum!

Pancakes

I thought of you this morning while making pancakes and eggs.

Lunch!

Work has been so nuts. I was really looking forward to going to a small networking lunch today. We were an hour late and didn't talk PR at all, but it was such a nice break. (This is my friend and former first editor at the D&C, Marketta, who works for Heritage Christian Services.)

View from my window

The view from my window looked really pretty this morning.

Hee hee

Going through old mail. Hee hee. Poor Joe.

Giving thanks

So the collage making went great tonight at the nursing home (here's what each of them did. I couldn't post just one photo) : ). It took a tiny bit for them to grasp the idea, but once they did, we were tearing up magazines left and right. : ) I asked them to do a collage of the things they're grateful for. Each of them were so proud of what they created. It melted my heart.

Woodie's birthday

We celebrated Woodie's birthday tonight at supper club with chocolate cheesecake and yummy Indian food. My stomach still hurts from all the food I ate, for real.

Bad mommy

Not only are they eating junk food, but they're sitting at a kids' table, watching TV. At least it's Fraggle Rock teaching about contagious diseases. Maybe they'll learn something while they're acquiring terrible table manners and childhood obesity.

Old Man Winter's coming... someday

The only hint of winter these days is the morning frost, which coats everything in sparkly goodness. Otherwise, it's been sunny and mid-50s. It'll be Thanksgiving next week!

Thanks

For my poetry class on Thursday, I'm going to read some poems about gratitude and then have the patients create a collage about what they're thankful for. I did this collage early this morning to use an example for them.

Working late

Work has been stressing me out. So much to do and not enough time. Tonight I put a good dent in my column for next week so that I'm not rushing to get it done tomorrow.

Dishes

You'd think I'm joking, but these are the dishes I did tonight. We've done a lot of cooking the past two days and SO not enough dishes.

Making art

I did some collage art today; it's been awhile. And I'm frustrated though bc Blogger refuses not to make this a vertical photo. I can't rotate it horizontal. *sigh*

Biscuits

All the Pillsbury biscuit ads on TV lately didn't work exactly right -- I made some from scratch. I do love the Pillsbury ones, but drop biscuits take about 5 minutes and cost pennies on the dollar.

Success

I hung this shelf today. I am so proud of myself bc it's the first time I hung a shelf that was not crooked. I also bought those cool silk flowers at World Market for the vase. Did I mention how proud I am of myself? : )

Cake pops

I made these little sports cake pops for my friend's son's birthday party today. They were a big hit, even if I wasn't happy with how lumpy they were.

Bangs

I just can't seem to stick to this whole "growing out my hair thing." I got it cut a little shorter and then went back to my stylist yesterday bc I wanted short bangs again. : ) I'm liking it.

Scraping the ice

Even though it's been sunny and mid-50s during the day, it's been downright frigid in the mornings.

Frost

There was a heavy frost last night. The car was covered in frost and the flowers everywhere completely wilted and turned brown. I don't know how these survived it.

Rain, go away

It's been pouring here the last few days and the wind has been horrible. So dreary, soggy and gross outside.

RED

It's so weird how some trees are bare, some are in full color and some are still green. This one had a carpet of gorgeous red leaves on the ground and was still more than half full of leaves.

So cute

I interviewed this really sweet artist today. She has two cats, both of which were very interested in me. This one was especially adorable.

Busy time

Work is starting to get hectic with early deadlines and holidays fast approaching. I have lots of to-do lists but had a burst of inspiration today, so I think I came up with some good ideas.

Distraction

The new video camera at work takes terrible photos... also, I can't imagine why I'm constantly distracted at work...

Winding down

Tonight will be a night of hot tea, watching TV and reading in bed.

Lazy Sunday

Today was a relaxing, lazy day of naps, movies and a dinner that cooks itself in the crock pot.
