On our way to get the newspaper this morning, Anna was Super Vanilla Girl. Not sure why a black spiderweb cape made her that, but it was fun! (Bad news in the paper today -- that's my boss's boss and the head honcho.)

Ladies' Brunch

Every year Tina hosts a ladies' brunch at her house -- her way of thanking all of the wonderful women in her life. I'm still getting over my stomach virus, so all I ate was some cantaloupe. : ) But the company was fantastic, exactly what I needed.

Stroll for Strong Kids

We had our big walk for the hospital today. They had a field full of these bounce houses!

Comfort

I've spent a lot of time this week under these covers. I took this around 5 p.m. today, it's one of my favorite times of the day, when the sunlight comes into the bedroom.

Downpour

The torrential downpours of the past two days took out the rest of my lilac blossoms.

Scared little boy

We had a thunderstorm early this evening. Yoshi usually gets a little scared. So he wedged himself between the coffee table and the couch, where I was sitting. Poor guy.

Pumpkin Eater

I took this Saturday, so it's a total cheat. I just liked the way that the sun was hitting the piano and my Disney songbook.

Fan

Sick day

I've been fighting a stomach bug the last couple days. Stayed home from work today and did some lounging in bed with the laptop.

My new dress

Toaster bought this dress for me at Macy's this afternoon. I might wear it to my friend's wedding in September.

Wide Waters

Grandpa took us to one of our favorite places to eat on the canal in Lockport. It hasn't changed one bit in 30 years.

Baking with Babs

I spent the day baking gluten free vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting at Miriam's house. They were better than I thought they would be, being gluten free and all. : )

Transformation

It probably doesn't look like it, but it is a huge transformation. Check out the track marks on the hosta -- we can drive down our driveway!

Work in progress

I planted a bunch of perennials today. Big sale at Home Depot. I am SO tired after all that digging.

Journey Home

Now that it's nice out, we can walk home from work sometimes (only 2 miles!). Check out PJ's pigtails!

Mojito mint

I bought this mojito mint at the farmers' market. I plan to make lots of mojitos this summer with it. : ) It's my favorite summer cocktail!

Dresses and Bubbles

It was 85 today so Anna got to wear this dress I made for her for the first time.

Lilacs

I didn't realize how far apart some of my lilacs bloom. This ones are just at peak now!

Mexican wrestler

Toaster and I have these Mexican wrestlers in various places around the house. We have one that we hide from each other and then place it in unexpected spots for the other to discover. : )

tree-lined street

Some guys took down an ENORMOUS tree on the street today. So sad, but it's making way for new sidewalks and curbs, which is very cool! Even better is, our tree is staying.

Gardening

I came home from work today to find Toaster planting veggie seeds in our garden.

Chili

I passed my love of chili on to my family.

Toaster grilled up some kabobs tonight. He always makes that face in pictures. I hardly ever get a photo of him where he's not making that face.

This is what I've been doing all day today. : ) My lattice came out pretty sucky, but hopefully it still tastes good. : )

Succulent

I was taking pics of this weird succulent we got this morning and Sammy decided she wanted to say hi.

I took a 15-minute walk with the girls in between storms and ended up overheated. Now it's 60. Go figure.

Geraniums

The farmers' market had tons of flowers today. Even though these geraniums looked so beautiful, I bought some impatiens for our whiskey barrel instead.

Big nerd

I made Joe take me to Burger King two nights in a row so I could get all four Star Trek glasses. I'm a big nerd.

Thursday night dinners

Every Thursday Toaster cooks dinner. Tonight he made tacos! So yummy!

After a bath

There is a moment, right after a bath, when she still lets me snuggle her. It's over in a flash, but I cherish the minute I have.

Lost (cupcake)

I hope none of my Lost friends check this before the party. I made these for the season finale tonight. I'm impressed with myself. ;)

I thought of Anna when I saw this gigantic centipede on our walk this morning.

I thought of my bed all day today. And now, I can't wait to crawl back in it.

Wormie

Anna found a worm outside today. She then scolded it for wiggling too much.

Are we there yet?

10 hours in the car is a long time. This was around my breaking point this afternoon.

Focus

It wasn't easy, but I got my camera to focus on the extreme near left side of the frame. (And just when the mashed potatoes were about to fall.)

I visited my grandma's grave for the first time today. I could feel her there with me.

Weeping willows are my favorite tree, but especially these on Cayuga Lake. I've missed them so much.

A new baby girl

We had lunch with a girlfriend today who's having a baby girl in a few weeks. I couldn't resist whipping this little dress (and tiny, stripey diaper cover) up for her.

Lilac fest

Today was the start of the Lilac Festival in our park and while most of the lilacs are in full bloom, this dark purple one is just about to open.
