Girl, I here you. It's so tough to create a nice environment in these types of work spaces. Your lamp idea is brilliant though. I should try that at my cubicle, except there aren't any nearby plugs!!!
Where does your computer plug in? I got my window to open this week. That helped a lot, too. It was BOILING in our office, and it was nice to hear the life going on outside.
I had a lot of writing to do and it was hard to concentrate at work. I put this lamp on the edge of my desk and turned it on. Suddenly I could write!
