Yoshi feels comfort in the familiar.
Today I've been finding him sleeping underneath my old desk.
Change is hard, even for dogs.

Sometimes, even dogs dream that they're flying.

I was going for a bit of a retro look today.

Yoshi has a new dog tag with his new address on it. We all have some changes to make. ; ) His new tag is pretty awesome though. I like the font.

Yoshi is getting tired of packing. So am I. It seems like it's never going to end. But I'm glad he's here to keep me laughing.

We had a bad thunderstorm tonight, so I tried out the Thundershirt on Yoshi. It's supposed to keep them calm. It was a tight squeeze. He needs the next size up but I think it may have helped him.

This dog has two dog beds and he chooses to sleep between them, not on them.

When I put the house on the market, I put away all of my personal photos so the buyers could imagine their lives there -- and not mine. It was strange living these past 9 months without any family photos on the walls. Now that it's under contract and there's no more showings, it doesn't matter. It felt good tacking this one to the fridge.

To help with Yoshi's arthritis, I bought a therapeutic twin mattress pad and cut it up to make a bed for him. He's been reluctant to sleep on it, but is finally coming around. I wish I had it for my bed. It's awesome!
Was up all night with Yoshi and ended up taking him to the ER at 3 a.m. He seemed in pain, breathing and panting very heavy even at rest. His breathing still hasn't normalized. Getting more xrays tomorrow to see if there are any issues with his heart or chest.

Not a day goes by that I don't think how grateful I am to come home to this lovable boy every day.

He comes to the side of my bed at bedtime I think to say goodnight.
Because the fence is still broken from the storm, I've been hooking up Yoshi to a stake outside. He's loving it. I think he likes protecting the house and keeping watch.
I was up a little after 6 this morning and enjoyed a really silent walk with Yoshi this morning. The pavement was still wet from rain and the neighborhood was still asleep. I need to get up earlier every day to enjoy this.
This is Yoshi's ritual. Get up, eat breakfast, go for a walk, watch me eat breakfast, take another nap. Some mornings, like this one, I just want to curl up alongside of him and go back to sleep.
