Letting go

I don't use my paper rolodex very often, but twice in the past two days, I have, and I've flipped past this. I deleted her from my phone at least two years ago; I'm not sure why I haven't thrown this out or donated her glasses yet. It doesn't make me sad. Just a bit wistful.

Great day

We woke up today with a bunch of things to check off our list, but first, Joe took us to Highland Park Diner. Mmmmm. That's my Park Special. Mmmmmm.

Then we headed over to Highland Park to visit the tree dedicated to my mom. The girls played for a while (isn't this so Blair Witch? WEIRD!).

The tips of all the branches were so red. I don't know if you can see it on your monitor, but it's a beautiful color.

I love that this man knew I was missing my mom and needed a day like today.

Lost moments

Every once in a while Parker looks so much like pictures of Edie and me at this age that I just can't stand it. And my first instinct is to show my mom. I'm forever grateful that she was able to meet Parker before she passed, but it kills me that Mom doesn't get to see her and Anna grow up. I know she'd ADORE them.

Monkey business

Most days, I don't even notice this little guy stuck to my desk drawer, but today, I noticed him a lot. He was one of my mom's desk toys, and I love that I have him to keep me company now.
