Shopping

After visiting Uncle Rod, we took the five kids to BJs for some quick shopping (hey -- it's got AC!). Parker was loving sitting with her cousin-twin Carson, but once I whipped out the camera, she put on a pout face.
It took a few aisles of coaxing (and some tickling), but I got her to smile.

Jumper!

In Montreal, she wouldn't let go of me in the pool, which was shallow enough to stand in. In the Thousand Islands, she wouldn't let go of Joe. This morning, she screamed if I tried to pry her off of me, but about 20 minutes in, I caught this moment -- jumping off the deck like the big kids. Nice!

Pensive

She looks like she has the weight of the world on her.

Can you see me, Mommy?

She thought if she stood on the other side of this bush, I wouldn't be able to see her. It was so cute and silly, I didn't tell her otherwise.

Scootin

Parker and I spent some time playing before dinner tonight. I love spending time with the girls on their own.

First piece of gum

It took her a while to figure out how to chew it, but she promised me she wouldn't swallow it. She agreed to give it to me when she was done. Guess where it went when she was done?

Bus rider

Both girls love taking the bus. Every time the bus would speed up, Parker would fall back and giggle hysterically. I don't think anyone else on the bus was as happy about riding it, but I'm sure she inspired a few smiles.

Birthday party

Parker got to go to a friend's birthday party today. They had such amazing activities.

Bandaid face

Parker has a cut on the side of her nose and she must be picking at it when we're not looking. It was looking really bad when she woke up this morning so I finally put a bandaid on it today, which drew more attention to it -- but at least she stopped touching it!

Cute peanut

I don't know how this kid puts up with me shoving a camera in her face all the time. Anna has learned to throw her hands up in front of the lens or make ridiculous faces.

P is for Pahker

It may be hard to see because she couldn't stop herself from writing more and more and more of them, but this kid can write "P." She can also write "H" and "T" and lots of other letters. She also knows their sounds and can name every one of them. When did that happen?

Thumbsucker

Parker's been working on only sucking her thumb when she's napping or sleeping. But every once in a while, we catch her doing it in the car. Today, she insisted she was only pretending. I see that thumb, but I know it was in her mouth before I snapped this!

PeeDee

I found this while scrolling through the end of my photos trying to decide what today's photo would be. Kind of makes me want to go back to those days, but then I look at Anna who has real, honest-to-goodness conversations with me and is turning into such a cool young lady. I look forward to every new stage ahead.

Welcome back

I brought back some figurines from the movie Princess and the Frog. I love that movie. Of course, the toys are supposed to be for the girls. ;)

Fat lip

Parker Pants was horsing around with her sister at Aunt Edie's house, bumped her lip on her sister's head and got herself a fat lip. Happy President's Day, PJ!

Accessorizing

You told me to try to accessorize. Good thing Parker was inventive enough to make me this gem of a necklace. It's a "fossil" of dinosaur footprints.

Burning off some steam

I had a meeting near day care at the end of the day, so I took Parker back to the office with me. It was fun for a little bit, but it was NOT a kid environment, so we went and found a place she could run like the crazy little person she is.

Transitions

It's crazy how fast my day changes. I went from working on a (frustrating) project (potentially) worth $20M almost directly to cleaning someone who pooped her pants.

The wait for pizza

Anna and Daddy went to get a movie while Parker and I waited for a pizza. She was in no mood for waiting for either, so we ate some chips and read a book at the kitchen table.

Organization

I'm going to try to be more organized this year. At home. (Gotta start somewhere!) But first, Friendly's for dinner, since I haven't gone for a full grocery run in weeks.
