I tried out my new oven for the first time tonight and I was very pleased with the results. I think it's better than my old one! I keep making new positive discoveries every day here it seems.

Even though it's been a busy couple of days, having to make these cupcakes for a friend was a really good release.

Baby shower favor

I made some cookies in the shape of a baby carried by a stork as favors for a baby shower. It's a stork theme, so I thought these would be cute.

Twins!

I don't know if I've ever gotten twin yolks in an egg before.

These may be the most perfectly rounded cake layers I have ever made. I actually squealed with excitement when I released them from the pans.

Biscotti

These looked great. Then I put them in the oven for round 2 and forgot about them when I went to send a quick email. Oops.

Stressed out

I have been in completely stressed out mode for about a week and it's going to last for at least another week. So, of course, when I thought I could make things a little easier by taking a shortcut with Parker's birthday cake, it failed spectacularly.

the joy of baking

Looks like I'll be spending my weekend baking for most of it. Tonight I made two batches of two different frostings and a batch of cookie dough. I'm exhausted. Off to bed. ...
